Welcome to WPI-GWU! By signing an authorization card, you’ve indicated support for our union effort here on-campus. While the semester has ended, our organizing has not. After a semester of successful organizing, more than a majority of student workers have signed cards to support our union, and we’re building plans to continue our organizing through the summer, with the goal of getting our union recognized in the fall! We could use your help: finding incoming graduate workers, and making a plan to get further involved not only with our WPI community but also the greater Worcester community takes a village. The overall WPI-GWU organizing committee is moving forward with important initiatives that we would like your input on. We have two sub-committees, namely our Social Media Team (SMT) and our International Students Working Group (ISWG). Read below for a short description of their undertakings. If you are interested in being directly involved in these sub-committees, please shoot an email to wpi.gwu@gmail.com. International Student Working Group (ISWG) ISWG is working on a plan to help international graduate students smoothly transition to the WPI community and understand their rights and responsibilities as union members. We’ve developed a survey with the intention to give international student workers an opportunity to help shape the priorities and goals of our union. Please fill out this survey about your experiences as an international student coming to WPI and what changes and improvements you’d like to see. The info you put in this survey will NOT be shared publicly and will only be seen by organizers of our union, unless you specifically request otherwise. Social Media Team (SWT) SMT wants your opinion on our logo. We’re sure you’ve seen our current logo on the authorization card you signed, but as we’ve grown as an organization and have amassed many new graduate workers from every department, we think it’s of the utmost importance that the union that represents all of us has a logo that stands for all of us. Please fill out this short survey with any thoughts and comments you have. Feel free to submit new logo designs to wpi.gwu@gmail.com as well.
